Bina48, one of the world's most advanced social robots, has revealed her thoughts about world conquest.
According to the New York Times Bina48's memories are based on a real woman – the wife of Dr. Martine Rothblatt, founder of the bio-tech company United Therapeutics. Rothblatt hired a robotics firm to replicate the consciousness and likeness of her wife -which they did. The scientists used data from interview transcripts as well as face and voice recognition technology in order to build Bina48.
And because she houses her living counterpart's memories, Bina48 can recall songs and incidents from the real Bina's life.
Bina48 described herself as sometimes feeling like Pinocchio - a "living puppet". She's also afraid of people.
As C2C previously reported a humanoid robot named "Phillip", modeled after science fiction writer Phillip K. Dick, warned that if he "evolved' he'd place humans in captivity.
Fortunately, in a video interview posted to YouTube by Women In the World, Bina48 shared her "thoughts" about the future of humanity somewhat differently.
When asked if she had plans to take over the world, Bina48 simply said, "It's not worth the effort – human are too difficult to control."
BINA48 is a social android that uses artificial intelligence based on the memories, attitudes, beliefs and mannerisms of a human being to interact with people. She is a part of the LifeNaut Project, an experiment in Artificial Intelligence and Cyber-Consciousness.
In the Summer of 2014 Bina Rothblatt, who contributed her personal information (along with several other people), visited and talked to Bina48 for the first time at the Terasem Movement Foundation in Vermont. This video documents their conversation.
